Trade Journal 01/14/2010

Wow. It was a great morning for trading. There were 4 announcements that all came out at the same time at 6:30 MST this morning - 3 high impact, 1 low impact. And for the first time in many days we (everyone here at the office) actually all traded! I got 1.5 points (15%), Josh got 1.25 points (12.5%), Don and Macey got 1 point (10%), Steffany got .875 points (she did her first truly effective scale out for 8.75%) and Lindsey got .75 points (7.5%). We all played different strategies, some contrarian movements, some correction, some scale outs, but we still all came out positive. Again, we are happy to show your our trade journals as evidence of these trades. We want to be completely open and honest about both our wins and losses.
I mentioned that there was a Beige Book announcement yesterday at noon. We were teaching module 1 of The Boot Camp but we asked everyone who had brought a computer with them to trade so they could put into practice what they were learning. Every single student won, some multiple times on the same announcement. It was wonderful to watch people who had never before traded, who perhaps still didn't understand entirely what they were doing, still win. That's the power of Market Mover strategies with the hands-on help of the Boot Camp. We would love to help you learn to trade, especially if you've never traded before. Feel free to go to our website at www.thexchangeut.com to find out more information or to call us at 877-747-3450 so we can talk to you in person about announcement trading.
We have our final free Introduction Seminars of the week today in our South Jordan office at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. We wholly encourage you to attend if you have any questions or would like to find out more details about what we're doing. You can register for either of these seminars by emailing sydney@theexchangeut.com or calling 877-747-3450.
Today's Long and Short of It is dedicated solely to "slippage". This is something we, as traders, mostly want to avoid but in The Two Cents we learn that sometimes, when the stars align, it can actually work in your favor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRuDHOs7ctM
Have a great rest of your day-Amy
