Trade Journal 12/31/2009

Happy New Year's Eve. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and that 2010 is a banner year for all of you in only good ways.
There was an unemployment announcement this morning. Macey was able to pull a half a point but Josh, Don and I lost. Again, can't wait for next week when things will hopefully return to normal as far as volume. I think that makes a big difference in our strategies.
We have our final Long and Short of It of the year has to do with "going green" - a great resolution for all of us:

Trade Journal 12/30/2009

There was an announcement at 7:45 MST today - Chicago PMI. We learned an interesting thing about this announcement. Since it is a private entity releasing this information they actually have a subscription you can pay and you can get the news 3 minutes earlier then when it's released across all of the news wires. And sure enough - at 7:42 MST there was all kinds of movement. I was able to pull a point, Josh pulled a point, Don got out on his stop loss (which he's testing for our Boot Camp classes,) Macey, Lindsey and Steffany didn't trade.
Due to demand we are having two Introduction Seminars today both at 10:00 a.m. MST. We'll have a 10:00 webinar that you can register for with Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com or by calling 877-747-3450. And we will also have a 10:00 live seminar in our Orem office at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We are returning to our regular seminar schedule next week and will send out that information on Monday after the holiday weekend.
Today's Long and Short of It continues the discussion of preparing financially for the new year by reviewing and adjusting your budget, pulling your credit, and being more prepared moving forward with more financial acumen. In The Two Cents Nathan Harris, one of our media coordinators, gives you a behind the scenes look at how we create The Long and Short of It.
Have a great rest of the day -Amy

Trade Journal 12/29/2009

Good Tuesday (late) morning -
This morning there was one announcement at 8:00 MST on Consumer Confidence. There wasn't much movement and so a lot of us ended up not getting in the trade. Lindsey, did, however and she pulled .75 points (a 7.5% return.) We had 5 people from our Boot Camp that came in early to trade and almost all of them won their trades, although it did take some time due to the low volume of contracts being traded this month and this week in particular. We're excited to get back to regular volume next week when the new year begins.
We are having our only Introductory Seminar for this week tomorrow, Wednesday Dec. 30th at 10:00 MST via webinar. This is a free webinar that lasts about 20-25 minutes and is well worth your time if you are interested in finding out more about Market Mover Trading. You can email Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com or Lauren at lauren@theexchange.com to register for this webinar. You can also call 877-747-3450 to register via phone.
We started trading, coming from no prior experience, in late August. We paper traded for 2 months (traded fake money) and then Macey and I went live (trading real money.) Between the two of us, since going live we have earned approximately $7,000 above the $5000 we were trading with (a 140% return on our investment) and we have the trade journals to prove these stats and they are available for you to view in our office. That's a phenomenal return coming from absolutely no experience in the market whatsoever. We strongly believe in the Market Mover strategies and feel confident that anyone who has the desire can learn how to trade very successfully.
We are finishing up our last Boot Camp of the year today but you are still welcome to sign up and pay the $195 for the Boot Camp now even if you can't attend the courses until January. If you don't sign up until January then it will be the regular $495 price. Remember, you do have to be a full Market Mover Trader to attend the Boot Camp but we are happy to answer any questions you may have about how that works.
Today's Long and Short of It covers how to review your year's finances to help you in the year to come. The Two Cents covers adopt-a-pet which is always an important subject: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCyrQGz5GKA

Have a good day-Amy

Trade Journal 12/28/2009

Good Morning.
There weren't any announcement trades today but there will be tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday so we'll report then on our stats.
We are starting up our last Boot Camp of December today and tomorrow for the $195.00 price. You can pay now and attend later but if you wanted to take advantage of the discount you will need to sign up before the end of the year with Sydney or Lauren at sydney@theexchangeut.com or lauren@theexchangeut.com. The price will go to $495 per person starting next month.
We have a great Long and Short of It today that focuses on New Year's resolutions and how they actually do help you succeed even if it's not overnight:

Trade Journal 12/23/2009

Good Wednesday Morning -
There were several trades this morning already and here are our combined stats from those: Macey pulled 1.25 points (12.5% return), Josh and Lindsey also pulled 1.25 points, I got .75 points (7.5% return) and Don got .25 points (2.5%). The high of the day goes to Steffany who pulled 1.5 points (a 15% return) from the 3 trades we had this morning. She has still only ever lost one trade since she started 2 months ago and is going strong. We do have trade journals to prove these stats and you are welcome to view them in our office whenever you would like to. Very soon they will be online and anyone who is a member of The Exchange will have access to view these charts and stats on a daily basis from all of our trades. You can also utilize the online Trading Journal yourself if you chose to do so. You can keep you own stats private but we will make ours available for members of The Exchange to view.
We do have our only Introductory Seminar of this week today at 10:00 MST via a webinar. If you would like to attend this 20 - 30 minute presentation please email Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com to register. It is a free, relatively short presentation and goes into further detail about what Market Mover Trading is all about.
We will have our final Boot Camp of the year next Monday and Tuesday, December 28th and 29th starting at 9:00 in South Jordan at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. The price is $195 for the rest of this month and then will go to our regular price of $495 in January. You can sign up now and take the classes in January or February but remember you must be a member of Market Mover Trading to be able to attend the Boot Camp since it is their proven strategies we are learning and explaining. We are the only additional educational resource that Market Mover Trading is allowing to teach their strategies and our whole goal is to make you successful announcement traders. Again, you can register by emailing Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com or by calling 877-747-3450 to register by phone.
Today's Long and Short of It talks about building confidence - a critical balancing act for traders. The Two Cents goes to a local shopping mall to see what last minute shoppers are going through: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xhx2HlDr79U
There are announcements tomorrow but then we will be done for the week because of the Christmas holiday. We do hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season.

Trade Journal 12/22/2009

Good Tuesday Morning -
There were two announcements this morning (one at 6:30 and one at 8:00 - which was different then I had detailed out in yesterday's email). Josh traded both announcements and was able to pull half a point from each for a total of 1 point (10%) of his investment. Steffany got .75 points (7.5%). Don netted .25 points (2.5%). Lindsey got half a point (5%). I got .75 points (7.5%). Macey had the big wins for the day and was able to pull a total of 2.5 points for a 22.5% return on his day's investment.
There are four announcements times tomorrow so we'll have more to report then and three high announcements on Thursday morning at 6:30 MST.
Today's Long and Short of It talks primarily about greed and why it is one of the three worst pitfalls for most traders - a very timely reminder as we all work towards becoming better traders. Today's Two Cents is good for both Dog and Christmas Lovers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b52ncQlogxw

The Long and Short of It 12/21/2009

There weren't any announcements this morning but there are two tomorrow morning at 6:30 MST so we'll be able to send out results then. With it being Christmas week we know that the market will be off most likely for the rest of the year. We still intend to trade but we'll be paper trading or take our contracts down to a minimal amount in preparation for it being odd.
Today is a great episode of The Long and Short of It which talks about fear and anxiety when trading. Pam also has very good information about Today in History on The Two Cents: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rd3XxGclhY
Thank you,Amy

Trade Journal 12/17/2009

Good Morning -
We can hardly believe a week from today is Christmas Eve. The year and month have gone by so quickly. There is trading for the rest of this month but as we head into the heart of Christmas season we know the market volume will continue to drop as people take their vacation and family time. We'll continue to trade but it will be with less profit expectations.
We did trade this mornings announcements at 6:30 and 8:00. I earned a half a point (I only traded the 6:30), Lindsey got 1.25 points (12.5%), Josh got 1.5 points (15%) and Steffany did lose her first trade from yesterday. Macey was practicing some scale out options on the software on his paper account and Don was practicing a trailing stop so while they technically won I'm not sure that really counts for stats today.
We are having two Introduction Seminars today at 10:00 and 7:00 in South Jordan at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. You can register with Sydney for either of those free 30 minute seminars by emailing sydney@theexchangeut.com or calling 877-747-3450. Today will be our last live Introduction Seminars of the year unless we feel there's a demand over the next few weeks. We'll continue our Wednesday webinars at 2:00 MST but again, with the holidays, we understand that people are very busy and have other things on their mind.
Our first Boot Camps have been going very well this week and we're receiving good feedback. If you register in the month of December it is only $195 but starting in January the price will go to its regular fee of $495 for the 12 hour course - essentially the price of 1 contract on the S&P 500 market. We will have live classes at our South Jordan location and webinars for people who are out of state and will also have day and evening classes available. We cover everything from Market Mover strategies and concepts to creating your own personal trading style to the psychology of trading to how to handle profits/losses on your taxes. It is full of helpful and useful information that will only make you a better trader. Market Mover Trading strategies certainly stand on their own and are worth every penny, but the Boot Camp will get you up to par faster so that you can become a successful trader with good, solid habits even sooner. We will have two more day sessions on the 28th and 29th of this month that will cover the 12 hours of material between those two days. Remember, we are the only educational resource that Market Mover Trading allows or endorses and we appreciate their vote of confidence.
The Long and Short of It covers the make-or-break-it importance of journal keeping (successful traders do it faithfully, so-so or non-successful traders almost always don't) and The Two Cents covers Christmas Charities and the critical role they play this time of year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDCdgzVZEg4
Lastly, here is Bob Kirkman's email from today. He is another Market Mover Trader who joined in September but didn't start paper trading until October. He then went live a few weeks ago and is having a goodly amount of success. Good Morning, Let me start off with yesterday's FOMC announcement. The day was really weird. I did trade the FOMC and lost. I lost my internet connection in the process. A good learning experience. Overall for the day I won 2 and lost 1. The loss hurt though....ouch....I hope I have my hardware challenges fixed by next week. This morning there was the unemployment announcement at 6:30 AM. I traded the initial movement and made 10% and then traded the correction and made another 5%. At 8:00 AM was the Philly fed Manufacturing Index. The news feed came in a little late but better than expected and the market went up. I made another 10% on this trade. I placed an order to play the correction but did not get filled so I canceled it and called it a day at +25% There is not an announcement tomorrow, so a 3 day trade weekend! Here we come! Have a great Holiday Season!
Have a good rest of the week and we'll touch base next Monday -Amy

Trade Update 12/16/2009

The Fed announcement came in this afternoon and there was great movement. For a few brief minutes I was up and then boom, it went down and I lost the trade. I, however, was one of the few who lost. Almost everyone else who was trading in our office, including the students who were here for Boot Camp, won. Don, in fact, won three times on that one announcement. So while my afternoon trade wasn't successful, most of the others were.
There are two announcements that come out at 6:30 MST tomorrow morning and then we'll be done for the week. So I will report in the morning how everything went.
Have a good night -Amy

Trade Journal 12/16/2009

Good Wednesday Morning -
Today is what's called "Fed Day". It's the day Ben Bernanke, the Fed Chairman, talks about interest rates and the possibility of raising or lowering them for banks which will happen at 12:15 today. Today is a very big day for the markets and so because of the magnitude of that announcement it tends to throw the rest of the day off, even the early morning announcements. So while there were high impact announcements predicted for this morning the market just didn't move very much. I did pull .75 points, Steff and Josh both pulled .25 points, and Don and Macey didn't trade. We will, however, all be trading at 12:15 because there is usually monumental movement. So I will send out a second email this afternoon that gives you that update and perhaps a screen shot so you can see what happened. This announcement only comes every 45 days so it's always a big one.
We do have an Introduction Seminar today in Orem at 10:00 and 7:00 at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We also have a 2:00 MST Introductory webinar. You can email Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com to register for any of these classes. They are all free and they typically last only 30 to 40 minutes, depending on questions. We would love to tell you more about this program and be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Trade Journal 12/15/2009

Good Morning!
We're back to trading this morning for the first time this week. There were 3 announcements that all came out together at 6:30 and it created good movement on the market. Macey made 3/4 point, Steff made half a point, Lindsey made 1 point, Don made 1 point, I made 1 point, and Josh had the high for the day again with 1.5 points. We all won our trades this morning and were all done within 5 minutes of the initial announcement. Not too bad.
Tomorrow we have an Introduction Seminar in Orem at 10:00 and 7:00 at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We also have our weekly Wednesday webinar at 2:00 MST. If you are interested in attending any of these free seminars please email Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com or calling 877-747-3450 to register.
We also started our Boot Camp yesterday and had our first 6 students. They're doing very well and we're excited to trade with them at 11:00 today when the NAHB Housing Market Index announcement is released. We'll be helping them with their settings and how to correctly interpret the announcement so they can have a successful trade. For the month of December the cost of the Boot Camp is $195 and will go to $495 starting in January. If you are interested in signing up you can call 877-747-3450 to register for your classes. You do have to be a Market Mover Trader to attend the Boot Camp and we would love to help you become a great trader.
Today's Long and Short of It gives 4 tips on how to become a successful trader and The Two Cents has some timely and valuable advice about CPR from our South Jordan Fire Department - well worth your time to watch:

Trade Journal 12/11/2009

Happy Friday! Sorry for the delay in getting this out -
We had good news on the announcements this morning. Macey lost his first trade but won his second, Don did the same, Josh won all of his trades for a total of 2.5 points, and I won my single trade but it took a long time.
We had a great turn out yesterday afternoon for the Open House Forum and are excited to continue that on a monthly basis. We covered stop losses and a variety of other topics as well as introduced our new online Trading Journal if you become a member of The Exchange. To be a member of The Exchange you must have already joined Market Mover Trading. But our philosophy at The Exchange is to only further help you as you start your Trading career that you are successful and confident in your knowledge as a Market Mover Trader. Market Mover Trading has done such an excellent job of creating a system that virtually anyone can learn and master in a relatively brief amount of time. We are up 120% of our initial investment since we started. We are 90% successful on our trades with the average trader being 70% successful. We have the trade journal to prove this information and it is open to anyone who would like to see it.
We will have more Introduction Classes next week and we are also starting the Exchange Boot Camp at $195 for the rest of December. Again, you must have already joined Market Mover Trading to attend the 12 hour Boot Camp which is broken up into (4) three hour classes but we are excited to start training and look forward to getting to know all of you on a one on one basis.
We hope you have a good weekend -Amy

Trade Journal 12/10/2009

Good Morning.
There were two trades today at 6:30 - Trade Balance and Unemployment Claims. There was good initial movement and then not much. We did end up winning our trades but it took a little while just because there were so few contracts being traded at that time. One of the biggest concerns we've heard about Market Mover Trading is what will happen to the market if a lot of new people get in, will it unbalance it? If anything today proved that it would only be a good thing. You need people and contracts to make the market move. It did move but not as much as it has in the past. We have read that many traders take December off if they're positive for the year so we're assuming that is what has happened. So it will be interesting to see how the rest of the month plays out and what the market looks like in January.
As for our stats: Don broke even, I pulled .75 points, Macey pulled half a point, Steffany pulled half a point, and Josh pulled 1.5 points - the high for the day from all of us. Each point represents 10% of our investment so Josh effectively earned a 15% return for the day.
We do have two Introduction Meetings today at 10:00 and 7:00 in our South Jordan office at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. We would invite anyone who is interested in learning more to attend and feel free to invite anyone else you believe may be interested to join you.
For all Market Mover Traders who have already joined we will be having our first Open House Forum in our South Jordan office from 4:00 to 6:00 today and we look forward to seeing you this afternoon. Please bring your trade journals and questions and stay for as long or as little time as you would like to. We look forward to this being our first of many good brain storming sessions. The better we make each other the better we become ourselves.
Here is today's Long and Short of It which clocks in just under 6 minutes and does a great job of telling you more about how to be a successful trader right from the owner's of Market Mover's mouths, Sean Larsgard and Jason Anderson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B06YDqgmfk
Lastly, here is Bob Kirkman's email from today:
Good Morning, Well today I went live and sure enough.....I lost my first trade. This morning there were 2 announcements at 6:30 AM. The prediction points came out with huge spreads between them. I was going to set up a sniper today with an exit strategy to make .75 points. I then decided to take out my exit strategy and manually get out in case the market moved big. I went against the teachings of Market Mover Trading and it bit me. If I would have put in my exit strategy I would have won. I lost $67.30 including commissions as a result. It seems things come in 3's. I dropped my cell phone into a glass of water and shorted it out and my garage door was frozen to the ground this morning too. So I have my negatives out of my system today. Here's to a fantastic cold day Multiple trades tomorrow!

Trade Journal 12/09/09

Good Morning -
There was only the crude oil trade today which none of our office traded except for me. I was able to pull a point but on a correction, not the initial movement. But I still made 10% which I'm happy with.
Tomorrow and Friday will be good trading days with a couple of high impact announcements. It's been a light week up to this point so I'll have good news to report tomorrow. I do know that Wayne Andreason also pulled a half point this morning, but it seems like most people didn't trade today.
We do have an Introduction webinar today at 2:00 MST and then a 7:00 live Introduction Seminar tonight at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300 in Orem. We'll have two more live Introduction Seminars tomorrow at 10:00 and 7:00 in South Jordan at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. These seminars are free and are open to anyone who might be interested. Feel free to invite anyone that would like to attend with you. You can register for any of these seminars by going to www.theexchangeut.com, emailing Syndey at sydney@theexchangeut.com or calling 877-747-3450.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and we hope you have a good rest of the day -

Trade Journal 12/08/2009

Good snowy morning -
This morning there was a low impact trade at 8:00. The market moved slightly which is exactly what happens with low impact. Steffany was able to pull .25 points and I pulled 1.5 points but in two different trades on the same announcement. I played the initial movement and then the correction - both Market Mover Trading strategies. So I'm up 15% for the day on my initial investment even on a low impact trade. There is only one trade tomorrow and then we get to some good, high impact trades on Thursday and Friday so I'll have a lot more to report then.
I did forget to finish up the story with Steffany's trade from Friday. She did end up winning but it took much longer than expected. She holds her 100% number, however, which is remarkable.
We don't have any classes today but will have three Introductory Seminars tomorrow, Wed the 9th. Two in Orem at 10:00 and 7:00 at 1411 West 1200 South, Suite 300 and one at 2:00 via a webinar. All of these times are mountain standard time and you are welcome to register for any of these classes by going to our website at http://www.theexchangeut.com/, emailing Sydney at sydney@theexchangeut.com or calling 877-747-3450 to register over the phone. Any of those options will guarantee you a seat at the seminar and we invite you and anyone else who may be interested in learning more about Futures trading to attend. We will have two Introduction Seminars on Thursday in South Jordan again at 10:00 and 67
We hope you stay safe wherever you are today and we also hope you enjoy today's episode of The Long and Short of It:

This forum is only for Market Mover Traders and you are welcome to come at any time during that two hour period and spend a few minutes or the whole time. Daily Trade Journal 12/04/2009

There was beautiful movement this morning on the Unemployment announcement. Numbers came in far better than expected and the market reacted accordingly. Macey, Josh and I all pulled good numbers on the initial movement. Don played a correction and lost, Steffany is still in her initial trade and we'll report next week how it ended. We did have mixed results on the 8:00 announcement. I won and Macey lost. Josh, Don and Steffany didn't trade. Josh pulled the best numbers for the day in our office for a total of 4.25 points. That's a 42.5% return on his investment. Incredible! I'm including Bob Kirkman's email below because he had an even better morning.
Lastly, we have a special Friday edition of The Long and Short of It which includes an interview with Market Mover Trading founders, Sean Larsgard and Jason Anderson. They talk about their own experiences and history and give good insight into what Market Mover Trading is all about:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz5CCF47t4w
We hope you have a great weekend and we'll see you next week.

Good Friday Morning! This morning at 6:30 the news came in better than expected on NonFarm Employment and the Unemployment rate improvement. The market moved HUGE.... I had my largest single trade win yet. In my first trade I pulled 7.75 points translating to a win of $1,937.50 in 20 seconds. I then placed a second order anticipating the market correction. The market continued to rally....I did lose a half point or $125 on this trade. Overall a great day. I made $1,812.50. There is another announcement at 8:00 AM but it is a low impact and I am not trading it. For the first week of December I am up a total of $4,125.00 Have a fun weekend.
