Trade Journal 02/26/2010

It was a roller coaster today... We started with a 6:30 a.m. GDP announcement. The news was mixed and it took both Macey and me over 30 minutes to finally get out of that trade with a small profit. That's not the ideal trade, by any means, but we were glad it finally went in our favor. The other announcements went much better. Macey ended up pulling 1.9375 total points and I got 3 points when all was said and done. My total profit for the day after commissions was over $700. On Fridays it's just the two of us that trade but I have heard from a few other MMT traders with mixed results. We had one lose and two win.
Next week will be another busy trading week and we look forward to sharing with you how those trades go, the good and bad. As a side note, if you do watch The Long and Short of It or subscribe to our YouTube channel then you will start seeing recordings of our live trades so you can see evidence of how we did rather than just my word for it. A few of them are up already. You can find them by going to YouTube.com and typing in TheExchangeUT.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great weekend

Trade Journal 02/25/2010

Early trades this morning with two announcements coming out at the same time. It was conflicting information but the market responded mostly to the Unemployment announcement which was bad news. All of us tried a variety of strategies and we all won. Don had the high of the day with 3 points. He played the initial and the correction which was a perfect Market Mover strategy and he executed it wonderfully. I got 1.5 points, Steffany got .75, Lindsey got half a point, Josh 1.375 points and Macey got 1 point.
We have a 10:00 a.m. Introduction Seminar today in South Jordan at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300 and would invite anyone who is interested in learning more details to attend. Following that, at 11:30, we will have a network class taught by Chris Pelissie.
The Long and Short of It is about accepting responsibility for your trades and effectively learning from your mistakes. The Two Cents will riddle you:

Trade Journal 02/24/2010

WOW! What a wild morning. 4 seconds after the news came out and I got into a trade my computer froze. I was in my office and thought perhaps it was just my computer so I shut the software down, restarted it (panicking all the while) and it was still frozen. After a few more panicked minutes I called Global Futures and two of there servers had gone down. You could hear mayhem in the background of the phone call so I can only imagine what was happening. I asked them to get me out manually because she couldn't tell me when the software would be working again. Just when she had told me that she had gotten me out my software started working. I ended up getting 2 full points (when I had only put in a profit target of 1.25) so it actually worked in my favor, but it was scary happening, nonetheless. In our 7 months of trading I have never seen Global Futures system freeze or go down. Ironically we had our first Trading Arcade this morning so we had several people in our office trading, too. Three of them were live and only 1 of them had an issue with a frozen dome, the other two it didn't affect. I've also received emails from several other traders who it affected so I know geographically it was hit and miss. For those of who have attended our Boot Camp you were given an emergency contact card just for this type of situation and hopefully it came in handy for you today. I don't think it happens very often but when it does it's hair raising.
On to normal stats: Steffany got 1.0625 points, Don got 2.5 points, Josh got .75 points, Lindsey got 2 and Macey got 1.25. All of our live traders that came to our trading arcade also won this morning.
Tomorrow we have an Introduction Seminar at 10:00 a.m. at our South Jordan office at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. We will also have a network meeting right afterwards at 11:30 for those Market Mover Traders who would like to attend to learn more about that aspect. Chris Pelissie will be teaching that class.
Today's Long and Short of It talks about "luck" in trading and The Two Cents gives great advice about small steps to better health:

Trade Journal 02/23/2010

There was a truly great movement trade this morning at 8:00 based on Consumer Confidence. Lindsey got 2.25 points, Macey got 1.25 points, I got a point, and Don lost 2 points. We have two more high impact trades tomorrow morning. Speaking of, tomorrow will be our first Trading Arcade at our South Jordan location. For all full Market Mover Traders who would like to come and trade the 8:00 trade tomorrow with us you are welcome to. Please remember we will not be giving advice, direction, etc. we simply want to be here to help answer questions and to facilitate a place where you can continue to learn and become better traders. You do have to be at our office by 7:30 a.m. to participate in the Trading Arcade and you will need to bring your own computer. The address is 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300.
Tomorrow we will also have a free Introduction Seminar to Market Mover Trading in Orem at 10:00 a.m. Please feel free to attend and to invite anyone who may be interested in learning more about futures trading. Our address is 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300.
Lastly, today's Long and Short of It deals with the ever constant battle of focus and being able to be in a fully involved trading mindset. The Two Cents gives you This Day in History with some interesting facts about the Dow among other subjects:

Good Morning. We didn't have any trades this morning but we have at least one high impact each day the rest of this week. Yahoo!
The Exchange Boot Camps are still going on each week and without exception, every student who has attended indicated on their rating sheet that they would recommend the Boot Camp to other Market Mover Traders. It is a great tool not just for brand new traders but even for more experienced traders who want still want to learn the finer points of announcement interpretation, strategies, etc. The Boot Camp is $249 for live classes and $195 for webinars. Please call 877-747-3450 for more information and to sign up or email Sydney@theexchangeut.com. Remember, this is the only education source outside of Market Mover Trading itself that has been approved and endorsed by Market Mover Trading.
The Long and Short of It today goes over a great book "Trading in the Zone," and The Two Cents catches you up on a very critical TV show that has been preempted by The Olympics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K-R6HLJ-Aw

Trade Journal 02/19/2010

We have a limited crew here on Fridays but both Macey and I traded the 6:30 Med/Low CPI announcement today and I got half a point and Macey got a full point with a scale out. We both went long and it took a couple of minutes to fill but we got it. So for this week Macey pulled 4.58 total points with only two days of trading, I pulled 4.25 points with three days of trading. I'm happy with that and as always, look forward to next week for more trading opportunities.
We would like to thank those of you who attended our Social Forum yesterday afternoon. We had some great discussions and thoroughly enjoy hearing your successes and stories. Starting next Wednesday we will be hosting a live Trading Arcade for full Market Movers for the 6:30 hustle at our South Jordan office. If you are a full MMT Trader then you are invited to join us and other traders to actively trade that morning's first set of announcements. You will have to be at our building by 6:00 a.m. to join us so that you have plenty of time to set up and review the trades. And we will not be advising directions, projections, or anything of the sort. But we will be here to answer questions and to offer support as you trade. We believe that part of the reason we have experienced success is because there are typically 6 of us here every morning trading together. We're not trading the same, but somehow just knowing that there's someone else here who's experiencing the same feelings, or who may have an answer to a question, is very valuable. So once a week we will invite you to join us starting next Wednesday.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Trade Journal 02/18/2010

Good Morning. MUCH better morning here at The Exchange. We had some great trades today based on the high impact announcements: Don pulled 3 points, Josh got 3 points, Lindsey and I got 2.5 points, Steffany garnered 1.75 points and Macey got the high of the day with 3.58 points. We love it when everything comes together and we can all walk away with profits.
Today we have a free Introduction Seminar in our South Jordan office at 10:00 a.m. The address is 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. It's approximately 45 to 60 minutes long depending on questions and we invite anyone who may be interested in learning more about Futures Trading to attend.
We also have a MMT Business Opportunity meeting at 11:30 a.m. today taught by Chris Pelissie at our South Jordan location. All who are interested in learning more details about Market Mover Trading's business are invited. This will be particularly helpful for people who are already Market Mover Traders but even if you're not you're still welcome to attend. This will become a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursdays from this point forward.
This afternoon we have our monthly Social Forum event for all full Market Mover Traders. This has proved to be a very successful and informative event for traders who get to know each other and learn more about strategies, routines, and how to become better traders. It will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and you are welcome to come for all or just part of the afternoon. We will have light snacks and a guest speaker who has 30 years of Futures Trading experience. We only have these Forums once a month so you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to better your trading abilities.
Lastly, today's Long and Short of It talks about how your "trading reality is shaped by your beliefs," a very true and timely concept. The Two Cents teaches you how to make "Corina's Cool Cups," a surefire hit for any Olympic party you might be hosting - even if it's just for you and your kids:

Trade Journal 02/17/2010

Good Morning. Very mixed day here for us at The Exchange. There were two announcement times this morning and while some did good on first set of announcements they eventually gave it all back to the market on the second set. So with sadness here are today's stats: Amy up 1.25 points, Josh down .25 points, Steff and Don broke even, Lindsey down 2.5 points. Macey didn't trade.
We have another announcement coming out at noon today so we'll let you know tomorrow how we did on that one. Hopefully we can recoup some of the losses but we'll see what the afternoon brings.
We do have an Introduction Seminar in Orem today at 10:00 a.m. at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We will also have another one in South Jordan tomorrow again at 10:00 a.m. at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. Both are free and open to the public so feel free to attend.
Tomorrow also brings our monthly Social Forum for all full Market Mover Traders from 4:00 to 6:00 at our South Jordan campus. This is a casual gathering but is a great place to talk with other Market Mover Traders about their strategies, philosophies and success. We will have a guest speaker at from 4:10 to 4:30 who will be talking about risk management and then we will break into our normal group discussions. We look forward to seeing you and hearing how you are doing. As always we will have light snacks and encourage you to come for as long or as little as you can stay.
We're having some technical issues with today's Long and Short of It but we'll send it out as soon as that is corrected.
Thank you, Amy

Good Morning. This morning there were two low impact announcements. Macey and I didn't trade but we did have a few other staff members who did. Josh earned 1.25 points, Lindsey .75 and Don .5. For low impact announcements they did very well.
We have a 10:00 a.m. free Introduction Seminar tomorrow in Orem at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. Please feel free to attend.
Today's Long and Short of It covers worry - how do you overcome it and make sure it doesn't interfere with your trading? The Two Cents details our Social Forum this coming Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300:

Happy President's Day. The market is closed today but we still wanted to send you today's Long and Short of It since it covers important ground. It is our theory that Market Mover Trading strategies are highly effective and lucrative. However, it is not a hobby. This is something that you have to be disciplined and consistent with for you to be successful. It's not something you can do once in a while and ever hope to get truly good at. Josh and Steffany talk about the importance of developing a trading routine that you do not deviate from. And Nathan produced a very impressive short for The Two Cents:

We hope you have a good holiday today and we look forward to trading tomorrow.

Trade Journal 02/12/2010

Good Morning. It was only Macey and me trading this morning but we both did well. Between the two announcement times at 6:30 and 7:55 this morning I pulled 1.75 points and Macey pulled 1.68 which wraps up another great week of trading. Because of the holiday on Monday there won't be any trades and we are having a "Cleaning Day" at The Exchange so we won't be holding Boot Camp that day. But we're back to our regular schedule starting on Tuesday, Feb. 16th.
Next Thursday, Feb. 18th, is our Social Forum for all Market Mover Traders and we want to make sure you get it on your calendar early. It will be at our South Jordan location at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. We will have a guest speaker who will be talking about money management (including profit targets and stop losses) from 4:10 to 4:40 and then we'll break out into our regular group discussions. There will be good food along with the good information. Remember, you must be a full Market Mover Trader to attend and we're looking forward to seeing all of you again.
Please let us know if you have any questions otherwise have a safe weekend -

Trade Journal 02/10/2010

Weird day, today. The weather is affecting all kinds of things back east which included our trade this morning and most of the remaining trades this week. Most have them postponed to tentative times on Friday. The Trade Balance announcement did come out at 6:30 MST but it was already considered low impact even before the weather issue. Nonetheless, most of us traded and here are our stats: Josh got half a point, Steff got 3/4 of a point, Don got 1 point and I got 1.25 points (trading initial and correction.) Macey didn't trade and Lindsey lost 3/4 of a point.
Today there is a free Introduction Seminar in our Orem location at 10:00 a.m. MST at 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We will have another one tomorrow in South Jordan at 10:00 a.m. MST at 10813 S River Front Parkway, Suite 300. We would invite anyone who is interested in learning more, who is interested in looking at our trade journals as evidence of our continued success, who is interested in finding out how they can learn to trade even coming from no experience, to attend. You won't be sorry.
Today's Long and Short of It covers volume and why it's so important in the market. The Two Cents answers "Where's Bobbie?" and congratulations to Bob Kirkman for being the first to accurately guess where she was:

Good Morning.
Today was the first announcement trading day of the week and there were two announcements that came out at 8:00 a.m. MST. They were both low impact but we were still able to pull profits. Steffany got half a point, Lindsey got 3/4 of a point and Josh and I pulled a point. Don didn't trade because of the low impact and Macey isn't feeling well today and wasn't in the office to trade.
The rest of this week there are some good, high impact announcements so we'll keep you posted on those in the coming days.
Tomorrow we have a free Introduction Seminar in Orem at 10:00 a.m. MST. The address is 1411 West 1250 South, Suite 300. We will not have any evening seminars this week.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about Market Mover Trading and The Exchange. We look forward to you joining and experiencing MMT success. Even if you are brand new and have never traded before this system was designed for you. We were brand new ourselves six months ago and now our success ratios are over 85% based on MMT's strategies. It takes some time and dedication but the return on investment is certainly worth it.

Trade Journal 02/05/2010

Good Morning. Very reactive market this morning. We had the unemployment announcement at 6:30 a.m. MST and the news was a strong mixture and the market reacted to both the good and bad news. Macey and I are the only traders here on Fridays so here are our stats: I pulled 3.25 points and Macey pulled 2 points. It was a good morning to round out a good week. For the week I pulled 8.42 points and didn't have any losing trades.
We are so glad to hear from other Market Mover Traders who are experiencing similar success. This system and strategies has opened up a whole new world to us and we are thrilled to be a part of it.
We have a new 60 second MMT Introduction Video that we would love for you to watch and get your feedback on. Here is the URL for that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkIym3L-Usg

As for the rest of us, Josh got 1.375 points, I got 1.42, Don got 1.5, Macey 1.67, Lindsey 1.75. We have another good day of trading tomorrow with two announcements at 6:30 a.m. MST.
